Newark JROTC Special Teams play an important role in the Battalion.  Not only do they sharpen skills, but they also build teamwork, friendships, and pride in the Battalion.

Raiders

  • Commanded by c/ 1LT Charlie Chu and c/ 1SG Sorina James
  • Meets Every Thursday after school from 1415-1530
  • Trains in Physical Fitness, First Aid, Map Reading, and Military Skills
  • Wants to get cadet members in better physical and mental shape
  • Wants to go to Raider Challenge

Color Guard

  • The Commander and Color Sergeant Positions are open
  • Meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 1415-1530
  • Performs at football games, parades, and many other special events
  • Competes in competitions
  • Wants to win first place at a competition this year
  • Wants to train new members for upcoming inspections and competitions
  • At each competition the team has entered in the past 4 years, they have placed 3rd or 4th
  • Selected for Color Guard at the state Medal of Honor ceremony

Drill Team
 
  • Pratice every Monday and Wednesday from 1415 to 1600
  • There will be Physical Training a couple times each marking period
  • Push-ups will be a requirement of those cadets who have training problems
  • The Drill Team rope and Ribbons will only be awarded to cadets who have participated in at least one competition and stay in Drill Team for the entire year.
  • The Drill Team earned second place in the Glasgow Drill Competition.
